Bavarian Nordic A/S and Oxxon Therapeutics Cross-license MVA and PrimeBoost Patents
Bavarian Nordic A/S and Oxxon Therapeutics Ltd announced today that they have signed a cross-licensing agreement, which provides Bavarian Nordic with access to Oxxon’s PrimeBoost technology and Oxxon certain rights to Bavarian Nordic’s recombinant Modified Vaccinia Ankara (MVA) technology. This agreement takes effect immediately.
Under the agreement, Bavarian Nordic obtains the right to use Oxxon’s homologous PrimeBoost regimens for MVA. Bavarian Nordic also gains an option to use MVA-BN® in heterologous PrimeBoost regimens in exchange for royalties on commercial sales.
Oxxon receives certain rights to develop and commercialise recombinant MVA-575 and further rights to use a non-disclosed, antigen-specific MVA product in a heterologous PrimeBoost regimen in exchange for royalties on commercial sales.

Both companies stand to benefit from this consolidation of intellectual property, which underpins the development of MVA-based drugs." She noted that licensing is an integral part of Oxxon’s strategy for commercialising its PrimeBoost technology.
