Management

Anders Hedegaard joined Bavarian Nordic in August 2007. He comes from a position as member of ALK-Abelló’s Corporate Management in charge of Business Operations. His management career includes executive positions with Aga, Foss and Novo Nordisk.

He is Chairman of the Board of Bavarian Nordic Holding Inc., Bavarian Nordic Inc. and BN ImmunoTherapeutics Inc.

He holds a M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark

Dr. Chaplin is Managing Director of Bavarian Nordic GmbH and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of BN ImmunoTherapeutics Inc.

Before joining Bavarian Nordic A/S in 1999, Dr. Chaplin worked for several years at the Institute for Animal Health in the UK in the areas of cytokine and dendritic cell biology and in the research and development of veterinary vaccines at the Cooperative Research Centre for Vaccine Technology (CSIRO) in Australia.

Dr. Chaplin received his PhD from Bristol University.

Nicolai Buhl Andersen joined Bavarian Nordic in November 2007. He comes from Coloplast where he held the position as Senior Vice President, Commercial Excellence. He has more than eight years of international experience in leading positions in the field of sales and marketing from Novo Nordisk.

He holds a M.Sc. in Economics and Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School.

Anders Gram joined the company in May 2008.

He comes from Novozymes, where he held the position as Managing Director and Vice President, Biopharma Operations. Previously he worked in various management positions within product supply in the enzyme business area at Novo Nordisk.

He holds an M.Sc. degree in chemical engineering and a Ph.D. in industrial biochemistry.

Reiner Laus was previously Vice President of Research and Development at Dendreon Corporation in Seattle, Washington where he was responsible for discovery, pre-clinical and development functions.

He holds a Medical Degree.

Before joining Bavarian Nordic A/S in 2001 as Head of Legal Affairs, Mr. Rasmussen worked for several years at Danisco A/S, as attorney-at-law. During the latter part of his career at Danisco he was based in London acting as General Counsel UK, responsible for the company’s legal activities in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Rasmussen worked previously as a lawyer in private practice and received his Law Degree from the University of Copenhagen.
