Respiratory Syncytical Virus (RSV)
Bavarian Nordic's strategy is to develop a recombinant
MVA-BN® vaccine encoding two surface proteins of RSV, Fusion
(F) and Gylcoprotein (G). This vaccine candidate has shown to
induce a protective immune response in a relevant animal model,
while not inducing any enhanced disease (inflammation in the lungs
as measured by the induction of eosinophils).
The Phase I study for the RSV vaccine will be initiated after
the measles vaccine has been shown to be safe and immunogenic in
children younger than 6 months old.
