MVA-BN® HIV multiantigen is both a prophylactic and a therapeutic vaccine candidate expressing eight whole or truncated antigens from HIV (including nef) with the aim of eliciting a very broad immune response against HIV.
Clinical development
A Phase I/II safety and immunogenicity study in 15 HIV-infected patients (CD4 counts > 350 ul/ml) is currently (2008) enrolling patients in the United States. The first safety data are expected by the end of 2008, while the immunogenicity data will be available during first half of 2009.
